Food Composting

Food scrap items such as vegetable and fruit waste, meal leftovers, coffee grounds, tea bags, stale bread, grains, and general refrigerator spoilage are an everyday occurrence in most households.
Thus, by learning to recycle food by composting and using the product as fertiliser can significantly reduce the amount of food waste and help the environment.

Conversion of Biogas

Biogas is produced using organic material, which is broken down with the help of bacteria in an anaerobic (oxygen-free) environment.
Over one-third of the food produced across the globe is either discarded or wasted. This food waste holds a huge untapped potential for generating energy, commonly referred to as waste-to-energy systems (WTE).
Biogas is a renewable and sustainable source of energy developed from organic matter such as waste residues of vegetables and fruits, scrap timber, and forest debris.

Although Singapore does not has its own biogas conversion plant open to the public, NEA and PUB has already started on a 2 years trial plan to turn food waste into biogas
Our third video is about how to recycle our food waste.
